70 senior officials of the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts from the Centre, South and East Regions are currently undertaking a workshop to reinforce their capacities in Ethics, Deontology and Administrative Writing. The main objective of the workshop taking place at the Yaoundé International Handicraft Centre is to appropriate MINPMEESA staff with the rules of administrative writing and to better immerse themselves in the rules of conduct and ethics with respect to the working milieu. Specifically, this capacity building workshop amongst others aims to recall the principles and requirements of administrative writing; improve their administrative writing techniques as well as the related documents which will perfect the quality of services provided to citizens by MINPMEESA staff.

Speaking during the opening ceremony on August 17th 2022 in his capacity as personal representative of the Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts Achille BASSILEKIN III, the Director of General Affairs Mr. Tobi MAHOUNDE declared that this training falls in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic who declared that “the purpose of the Public Service is to offer quality services to its users, to increase their confidence in the State, as well as their participation in the common work of development”. Before declaring the workshop opened, Mr. Tobi MAHOUNDE craved the indulgence of all participants to pay keen attention to the rich lectures as well as fee free to ask pertinent questions that will enrich them as well as other participants and improve on their work output in the near future. It should be noted that the Director of General Affairs was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development alongside the Inspector of Services No. 1 of MINPMEESA and some consultants.

The three days workshop to run from the 17th to the 19th of August 2022 will nourish the 70 senior officials of MINPMEESA in the ranks of Coordinators, Departmental Delegates and Heads of Regional Services with professional rules that regulate their functions. In this light, they will return to their duty posts with a mastery of the rules and principles of administrative writing, a better understanding of the various administrative documents and the rules and requirements of deontology and administrative ethics.
