CFAF 100 MILLION FOR CCIMA PILOT INCUBATION CENTRE

The Partnership Agreement signing between the Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts and the Chairperson of the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts which houses the CCIMA Pilot Incubation Centre took place on 23 August 2023 in Yaoundé. During his speech, Achille BASSILEKIN III, Minister of SMESEH indicated that CFAF 100 million will be released from the 2024 budget of MINPMEESA to support this incubator. During this announcement, MINPMEESA indicated that this amount will enable CIP-CCIMA to strengthen its activities, support incubation projects and above all demonstrate how productive the centre is, in terms of quality to serve as a benchmark for other public incubation structures on the national territory.  The Partnership Agreement falls within the framework to support incubation structures, and aims at promoting the incubation activities of CIP-CCIMA, information sharing and support for incubation projects. This Agreement provides amongst other things to support the positioning of the CIP-CCIMA analysis laboratory in the ecosystem of the development of agro-industry and facilitate the emergence of viable, economically profitable and competitive enterprises.  Though I thank MINPMEESA for this grant, Christophe EKEN, the Chairperson of CCIMA emphasised that it will be used to install young incubates.  He promised that this money will be used in compliance with financial management rules. The CCIMA Pilot Incubation Centre (CIP) aims at fighting against youth unemployment, training youths to employment,  creating new jobs and incentives to process agricultural products.
