As the representative of the Minister of Small and Medium -sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft, Mrs Menanga Mireille spouse Abongo, Technical Adviser No. 1 presided over the graduation ceremony for EMPRETEC certified local entrepreneurs on 25 July 2020 at the Yaounde International Handicraft Centre. This ceremony marks the end of the 22nd training session on entrepreneurship development.
The 22nd EMPRETEC 2020 training session aimed at enabling the 19 selected participants from all over the country to make an objective and complete assessment of their potential as entrepreneurs and project holders. This was done through team work, individual exercises, discussions and sharing of experience. For six days, the aim was to increase the participants’ ability to set achievable (albeit sometimes difficult) goals, to develop and defend business plans, and to improve their efficiency in order to better satisfy their customers and offer them high-quality products or services. This training workshop also offered participants working in various fields such as traditional pharmacopoeia, leather goods, catering, cosmetics, IT, office automation, snail farming, etc. to benefit from support and advice scheme. Among the modules proposed to them were those on seeking opportunity and initiatives, setting objectives and preparing business plans.
At the end of this workshop, the learners’ representative expressed his satisfaction and thanked the Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft for all the actions carried out for the optimal achievement of their projects. He lauded the trainers for their availability and the quality of the lessons received and promised to make good use of them.
The session ended with the award of certificates by the representative of MINPMEESA to the 19 participants trained. She reminded them the place and importance of SMEs for the Cameroonian economy while recalling the merits of such training which builds their capacities while promoting solidarity and business links between participants. According to her, these links become real instruments for partnership and commercial growth. She invited each of the laureates to take advantage of all the lessons learned and to influence their respective localities by being worthy ambassadors of the EMPRETEC programme.
